Today's Admiral

Although my preferred seasons are Spring and Summer, the onset of Autumn has its attractions too. For the past couple of weeks, the garden has been filled with Red Admiral butterflies, honey bees and the odd wasp, all enjoying the flowers from the Ivy (Hedera Helix), which grows up, along and over the white-washed, stone, garden wall.

In contrast with the odd, end of the summer, flowering from other plants, the ivy wall is alive with a buzzing and fluttering and has decided to flower in sections and in abundance. Added to this, as I walk down the garden path with an excited cat at my heels (because we're heading for the studio), there is a scent of Jasmine in the air.

Food Play

Playing with food whilst waiting for my lunch—no prizes for guessing what I'm making! ;) Tomato and flowers come from my garden.

Whose Shoes

Having designed a cover for a 1920s colouring book, as part of a creative bootcamp, earlier this year, I decided that I'd like to create the contents too.

Since May, I've been designing colouring pages, of a story-colouring book. In it we follow the life and loves of socalite: Clarissa and Podge (her poodle), as well as touching on social occurrences of the time.

In their creation, the colouring pages are influenced by styles and themes from the 1920s, but with a modern twist.

Above is a sample of one of the sketches, which go into designing a colouring page. Below the initial cover from the bootcamp, which inspired this project.
